Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the forest was designated in the year of 1991 as a national park, it was listed as a UNESCO world Heritage site because of its ecological importance, flora and fauna of the forest.

Bwindi forest has become popular to the world because of Gorilla Trekking! The forest is a home to more than half of the remaining world mountain gorillas population. Mountain gorillas are highly endangered species and the forest possesses more than 600 individuals in the entire world. They are highly endangered because of poaching, habitat loss and diseases.

Before the forest gazetted as national park there are indigenous people tend to leave in forest as their home state, the pygmy people locally known as the Batwa people where leaving in the forest with the gorillas and other wildlife animals, they leave their while hunting wild animals as their food and meat, after gazetted as a conservation area, they taken them out of the forest and educate them about the danger of leaving with wildlife, stop them to hunting the animals.

The park containing over 120  mammals species more than any national park in Uganda although sightings are less common because of the dense forest but on luck day you can see forest elephants, African golden cat, the rare giant forest hog, 11 primates species including chimpanzees, lHost monkeys, red tailed monkeys, 400 tree species , 450 birds species such as Emerald cuckoo, dark caped bulbul, black  bee eaters, woodland warbler, Redheaded bluebill, montane oriole, among others , 167 batter fly species in the forest.

Bwindi forest its main attraction and activity is gorilla trekking which is done in four sectors of the park that is Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors, enjoy an insightful community walk, an enthusiastic Batwa (pygmy) dance, pretty waterfalls, varied birds and lush rainforest scenery.

Impenetrable forest; this name comes from the extensive stands of bamboo interspersed amongst the larger forest hardwoods. The bamboo and the thick ground cover of ferns, vines and other plants growth severely hinder direct access on foot.
