Discover the source of the River Nile, the Nile is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa. It flows from the biggest fresh water lake in Africa and its the second fresh water lake in the whole world lake Victoria. It flows into into the Mediterranean sea north Africa. Lake Victoria is shared with three countries that’s Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda where the source of the Nile. It has historically been considered the longest River in the whole world, though some researchers saying that the Amazon River is slightly longer but River Nile is the longest in the world.
The River Nile covers a total distance of about 6650 km (4130mi) between the region of Lake Victoria and the Mediterranean sea within the period of 90 days from its source to Mediterranean sea, to its source Jinja 80km from Uganda’s capital and 120km from Entebbe international airport.
River Nile its very important and contribute a lot to Ugandan people and the country at large because it provides power to Uganda and its the source of energy to the country. The dams where constructed on Nile gives the country electricity to allow the to carry their daily activities, the River are too rich to support farming and still provide people with water, most of the people along the River provide them with food like fish rich in proteins, land for agriculture, means of travel, building materials’ among others.
