Whispers of the Wild Lake Mburo National Park, the park is compact of gem, located near to the Uganda’s capital kampala, on the route connects to the western part of the country, lake Mburo is the smallest Uganda’s savannah national parks and its home to over 350 bird species as well as zebras, impalas, elands the biggest antelope spices, oribi, Defessa waterbuck, leopard, hyenas, topi, buffaloes among others but their is no elephants in the park.
Lake Mburo national park is gazetted in in 1993 as a controlled hunting area and upgrading it to the game reserve in the year 1963. The region was settled by the Banyankole Bahima pastolists who traditionally herd Ankole cattle because the area was consisting many water sources of which its having 13 lakes and big savanna part which gives them the grass for their animals. Lake Mburo forms a part of a 50km -long wetland system linked by swamp, five of the lake in here is within the parks borders and other area is covered with savanna which gives the healthy population growth buffaloes, bushpigs, warthogs and hippopotamus.
Bird haven , lake Mburo is known as for birding since its known of having more than 350 species of birds such as finfoot, mosque swallow, blackballed bustard, bare faced-go away bird, Ruppel’s starling, the even the southern ground hornbill and black throated barbet among others.
