Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda and is part of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area (MFCA), famous for its 43 meter high waterfall, the Nile, and wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles, as well as other resident creatures.
The park is home to 76 species of mammals with four members of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo), bushbuck, Uganda-Kob, water and warthog, giraffe, Jackson cantie nest, hyena and 451 species of birds.
Murchison is best known for safari experiences and boat trips. It is located in northwest Uganda, covering a total area of approximately 3,893 square kilometers, extending through the districts of Buliisa, Nwoya, Kiryandongo and Masindi.
The park is located about 300 km from Kampala, the capital and is definitely one of the top tours destinations in Uganda.
